Whether taking a weekend getaway or a week away from home, the purpose of a vacation is to have fun, relax, and de-stress. I don’t know about you, but sometimes for me, the planning process puts a bit of a damper on this. Online research, making calls to check availability, and so on can stress me out! So I like it when someone makes the planning easy, which is exactly what happens with Ohio’s Largest Playground in Warren County, Ohio.
On the website – www.OhiosLargestPlayground.com — you can view itineraries for various interests and ages. To take it a step further, there are packages assembled with your lodging and tickets to top-notch attractions.
One of my personal favorites is the Ride & Roar package which includes lodging and tickets to both Kings Island and the Cincinnati Zoo. Recent enhancements to this getaway include more flexibility in the selection of hotels, number of tickets, and length of stay.
When I was dating my now-husband before getting married and having kids, we made annual treks to both the zoo and Kings Island. These are world-class attractions that offer fun and adventure for the young and young-at-heart. Since having our son, we continue to have a blast at these award-winning Southwest Ohio destinations. Because admission to Kings Island includes entrance to their massive water park, Soak City, this is easily a two-day trip in and of itself. Add on a short trip south to the Cincinnati Zoo – consistently ranked as one of the top in the country – and you have a convenient mini-vacation.
If you haven’t checked out this zoo recently, I urge you to do so. The grounds have undergone a beautiful transformation with renovated facilities and simply stunning lush greenery and flowers of every variety. And, of course, there are the animals. At the Cincinnati Zoo, there are several opportunities to get up close and personal with special encounters (check the daily time schedule for these when you arrive). A personal favorite is getting to feed the giraffes. People of all ages get a thrill out of this experience – myself included.
The zoo isn’t the only attraction in the area to undergo transformation. Kings Island has added The Banshee, which is attracting coaster fanatics from around the globe! This gives “thrill ride” an all new meaning with seven inversions and speeds of up to 68 mph. If you prefer to watch the thrills, the Cirque Imagine show with acrobatic performances featuring an incredible showcase of strength, balance and athleticism might be more your speed.
Thrills and adventure, fun in the sun, splashing and roaring – all just part of the Ride & Roar package. Your weekend getaway – not far away – is just a few clicks away!
